What is the legal form of a foundation on bcause?

At bcause, you do not set up a legally independent foundation - we have already taken care of that for you with the establishment of the bcause trust foundation. That's why you don't need a notarised certificate or to define a foundation purpose to start your commitment on the platform.

Legally speaking, your bcause Foundation is a fund within our charitable trust foundation into which you can simply make a donation. Our structure is therefore most similar to that of Donor Advised Funds, which have existed successfully in the USA for a long time.

What does it cost me to use bcause?

Registration with bcause is completely free of charge. You can choose between 3 different membership models for your commitment. With the basic membership, you can support all organisations at bcause and pay a small transaction fee for each one. If you want to get involved on a regular basis or are interested in a public foundation that others can also contribute to, our premium model for €170 per year is the right choice.

Can I fundraise for my own organisation on bcause?

Our aim with bcause is to mobilise more private assets to support organisations and social enterprises. Nevertheless, organisations cannot register on bcause themselves or raise donations directly. They are suggested by members who would like to support them via the platform. The commitment of an existing member also increases the visibility of an organisation for other bcause members.

Does a foundation on bcause replace the establishment of a non-profit organisation to receive donations?

You can easily collect donations via your Foundation to support charitable organisations of your choice.
